From the moment I found out I would be photographing this wedding, I knew just how special it was going to be. Josh and I have been friends for a while, and when he met his beautiful bride-to-be, Jamie, things just seemed to fall effortlessly into place.
This crafty couple’s October wedding was full of rustic fall flavor and subtle plays on Halloween…like Jamie’s hair piece, reminiscent of a large, gilded version of those orange spider rings swimming about your Trick-or-Treat bag as a kid. Or Jamie and Josh’s “Till Death Do Us Part” casket ring box! It was like one part fall, mixed with one part vintage, and a dash of dia de los muertos — for an unexpected, whimsical wedding, perfectly personalized and surprisingly breathtaking.
Jamie + Joshwere so easy to work with, practically falling into natural poses on their own. It is easy to see their love for each other through the effortlessness captured here in their wedding photography. They both know how big I am on shooting film, so many of their photos from their wedding day were captured on various cameras from my Yashica 635, Nikon fm10 l, and Yashica T4.
The piece de resistance was the moon cut out Jamie’s brother created for guests to sit in and snap photos of themselves.
Every little detail flowed together to create this amazing union of two people and a wedding that was stunning, yet far from traditional. I very much enjoyed capturing memories of this perfect day for two people who are so “over the moon” in love with one another.
